HAMPTON HEIGHTS SIDEWALK TOUR

The Neighborhood Association is excited to host our first Sidewalk Tour on Saturday, October 3rd from 1-5pm.

All tours will be self-guided using our digital map so you can stroll through the neighborhood at your own pace,  We'll have fun facts written on the sidewalk in chalk in front of 30+ homes marked on the map with information such as year built and architectural styles.

Please remember to stay on the sidewalks, off of private property, and maintain social distancing at all times.

Visitors to Hampton Heights:

You may park in the Spartanburg Prep School parking lot located at 385 S Spring Street. 

 

Once you're ready to start your tour head to the intersection of Spring Street and West Hampton Avenue and look for 156 West Hampton Avenue.  This location is the start of both the short tour along West Hampton Avenue and our longer tour which includes homes on West Hampton, South Irwin, Peronneau, South Hampton, and Hampton Drive.

While we encourage you to stop and admire all of the beautiful homes along your route, we have designated homes marked on the map that will have a couple of interesting facts per house written on the sidewalk in front of the house.  This may include year built, architectural style, or other bits of information.  We hope you enjoy your tour and take your time strolling through history.

Thanks for understanding that due to Covid-19 precautions, our tour is limited to viewing the exterior of the homes only from the sidewalks.

Hampton Heights Sidewalk Tour - Written Directions

 

All tours are self-guided so you can enjoy looking at the exterior of our beautiful homes at your own pace. Please remember to stay on the sidewalks, off of private property, and maintain social distancing.

 

You may park at the Spartanburg Prep School. 

From the parking lot take a left onto South Spring Street towards West Hampton Avenue. 

Our tour begins at the intersection of Spring Street and West Hampton Avenue.

  • The short tour consists of 15 homes is a direct path down and back West Hampton Avenue.

  • The longer tour consists of those 15 homes on West Hampton and an additional 25 homes on South Irwin, Peronneau, South Hampton, and Hampton Drive, for a total of 40 homes.

 

To begin the tour, start with

  • 156 West Hampton Avenue, and head west.

On your right you will see…

  • 182 West Hampton Avenue

  • 200 West Hampton Avenue

  • 232 West Hampton Avenue

  • 244 West Hampton Avenue

  • 266 West Hampton Avenue

  • 268 West Hampton Avenue

Continue straight crossing over South Irwin Avenue.

  • 304 West Hampton Avenue

Cross over West Hampton Avenue to view

  • 309 West Hampton Avenue.

Head back up West Hampton back to where it intersects with South Irwin.

At this intersection you can view on your right

  • 450 South Irwin Avenue.

For the shorter tour, at this intersection continue east down West Hampton Avenue.

The following homes will be on your right.

  • 269 West Hampton Avenue

  • 251 West Hampton Avenue

  • 245 West Hampton Avenue

  • 203 West Hampton Avenue

  • 169 West Hampton Avenue

  • 157 West Hampton Avenue

For the longer tour, turn right on South Irwin and view the following homes on your right.

  • 482 South Irwin Avenue

  • 492 South Irwin Avenue

  • 498 South Irwin Avenue

  • 526 South Irwin Avenue

At the four way stop sign, cross over South Irwin Avenue to the other side of the street.

You are now heading back towards West Hampton.

You can view the following homes on your right.

  • 531 South Irwin Avenue

  • 511 South Irwin Avenue

  • 485 South Irwin Avenue

  • 481 South Irwin Avenue

Once you return to the stop sign at West Hampton Avenue turn right to view the following homes on the right.

  • 269 West Hampton Avenue

  • 251 West Hampton Avenue

  • 245 West Hampton Avenue

Cross over Peronneau Street to view

  • 203 West Hampton Avenue

Turn right to walk down Peronneau Street to view the following homes on your left.

  • 465 Peronneau Street

  • 471 Peronneau Street

Cross to the other side of the street to view the following homes on the right.

  • 486 Peronneau Street

  • 500 Peronneau Street,

Turn and look across the street at

  • 505 Peronneau Street

Continue down the street with these homes on your right.

  • 508 Peronneau Street

  • 516 Peronneau Street

Cross back across the street and view

  • 531 Peronneau Street on your left.

At the end of the street, cross over South Hampton and turn left.

About halfway down the street, view.

  • 179 South Hampton Drive.

Cross back over the street to the other side.

At the end of the road turn left onto Hampton Drive.

View the following homes on your left.

  • 526 Hampton Drive

  • 520 Hampton Drive

  • 506 Hampton Drive

  • 494 Hampton Drive

Cross the street to view on your right

  • 495 Hampton Drive

  • 485 Hampton Drive

  • 479 Hampton Drive

  • 461 Hampton Drive

At the end of Hampton Drive turn right back onto West Hampton Avenue.

The final home will be on your right.

  • 169 West Hampton Avenue
